How to Fly First Class for Nearly FREE!

How we took a $15,000 first class flight and only paid the taxes.

We flew from San Jose California on a British airway Dreamliner to London. We stayed in London for a few days then we took another flight from London Heathrow to Nice France.

We got the British Airways Chase credit card. I recommend you get this card early in the year, like January or February. They have sign up bonuses so if you spend 3,00 in 3 months you get 50k points then 50,000 more if you spend 20,000. If you spend 30k over the course of a year you will get a travel together ticket. That means you use points to cover one ticket then a companion gets to fly in the same cabin you do and only pays the tax. We have done this in Business Class and First Class.

Before we got into credit card points we thought First class was a distant bucket list item that we probably wouldn’t get to until we retired. I have to say the flight exceeded our expectations. We actually found ourselves saying that we wish the flight were longer which we have NEVER said on a flight before. The seats were so comfortable,

I recommend that if you get the travel together ticket you fly in a premium cabin.

If you have a business or first class ticket you also get access to lounges. If you use it on economy class you still have to pay tax so it wouldn’t be that much of a savings compared to some discounted economy rates you find online. Now when it comes to first class you will be getting a massive savings.

You have to fly on British Airways and just book early so that you find availability on points. I downloaded the British Airways App and after we figured out when we wanted to go I start looking for that time range. When we decided we wanted to go to London and Paris for Christmas I just started checking the app for flights and when available first class showed available I went online logged in checked the box to use the travel together ticket and we had our tickets easy as that.

We flew to London then onto the south of France and back to California for less than 3000 for two Round-trip first class tickets. If we paid retail that would have been 15,000 dollars at least.
